Day 1 - Tuolumne Grove
Day 2 - Nevada Falls
Day 3 - Glacier Point
Day 4 - Merced Grove
Join us on this great women’s hiking trip for 4 days in world renowned Yosemite National Park. Our hikes take us around majestic Yosemite Valley, Nevada Falls, and Glacier Point, among other scenic & secluded places. We will carry only light daypacks each day to travel comfortably through the National Park. Hikes are rated easy to moderate. You can go at your own pace–fast or leisurely–and there are more challenging options for people who want to go farther. Our experienced trip leaders have been guiding hikes in Yosemite for the past 20 years. Your guides will unlock the secrets of Yosemite as they introduce you to the flora, fauna and geology of the area.
We will return to camp in the afternoons with time for personal pursuits and relaxation. You’ll dine on fresh, delicious meals prepared by your guides each evening, with featured recipes from Carole Latimer (Call of the Wild’s Founder) cookbook, Wilderness Cuisine. You’ll socialize and share experiences over dinner or around the campfire with new friends. This trip is perfect for the woman looking to explore Yosemite National Park on foot, and is ready to have a great time doing it. Join the tradition!
Day 1 ~ Arrival & Hike around Tuolumne Giant Sequoia Grove
Meet between 1-2 PM at our campsite inside Yosemite National Park. You will receive the campsite number and location prior to your departure. We will have a trip orientation and go over the trip’s itinerary and then depart for the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoia Trees. This 2.5 mile hike is an easy hike to warm up your legs and take in the beautiful scenery of the Giant Sequoias – and even walk right through the center walk through one! We’ll enjoy a delicious meal about 7:00 PM and a campfire this evening.
Day 2 ~ Vernal & Nevada Falls; 6.5 miles
Today’s destination is to legendary Vernal & Nevada Falls. We’ll travel through Douglas Firs and Live Canyon Oak trees up the John Muir Trail to see the Merced River pour over granite to form Nevada Falls, a 594ft. waterfall. With Liberty Cap behind it, it is sight to remember. We’ll enjoy lunch at the top and take lots of pictures before descending back to the Valley. Back in camp, we’ll enjoy a delicious meal, and an evening around the campfire.
Day 3 ~ Glacier Point Hike; 4.6 miles
Today’s hike is from Glacier Point, the Valley’s most famous viewpoint. We’ll get shuttled to the top of Glacier Point, before descending 4.6 miles to the valley floor. Along the way, we’ll pass Sentinel Falls, and have great views of Half Dome & Yosemite Falls. For energetic hikers, you can skip the shuttle and hike this roundtrip for 9.2 miles. Once back on the Valley Floor, we’ll explore the Park’s Visitor Center, pick up a few souvenirs, and sit in on a ranger briefing about the park’s flora and fauna. Dinner tonight will be in Yosemite Valley surrounded by the granite walls and glowing sunset.
Day 4 ~ Merced Grove Hike; 3.0 miles
This morning, we’ll hike early to the least visited grove of Giant Sequoias in the National Park. Off the beaten path, we’ll enjoy the solitude at the grove and reflect on our trip’s memories among these majestic trees. We’ll also spend time identifying the wildflowers that will be blooming this time of year. We’ll return to camp in time to finish our packing and say good bye by 12 noon.
