Call of the Wild pioneered women's adventure travel back in the seventies, and today you can
join us on wilderness trips to world-class destinations: Backpack across the Grand Canyon or to
the summit of Mt. Whitney, highest peak in the lower 48 states. Climb with us to the rooftop of
Africa--the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro--and then go on safari to the Serengeti. Hike on the
tundra in the midnight sun in Denali National Park, Alaska, or along Kauai's wild Na Pali Coast.
Kayak from a native village and swim with giant sea turtles on Hawaii's Big Island. Soak in the
hot springs of Big Sur, California, test your mettle with a climb of Half Dome in Yosemite, hike
over High Sierra mountain passes on the John Muir Trail, and explore ancient Anasazi Indian
ruins in Canyonlands National Park in the American Southwest.
When you join us on a trip you'll be in the company of wilderness experts who bring proven
leadership to your trip. Founding owner Carole Latimer grew up backpacking and skiing in
California's Sierra-Nevada mountains and she personally creates our itineraries which not only
reflect her expertise in the wilderness, but cater specifically to the needs and goals of women.
Our specialty at Call of the Wild is fine food. The care and
quality that go into the preparation of your wilderness meals is unsurpassed, and we feel that
the special feasts we serve adds to the fun on our trips.
Our guides will go the extra mile to make you feel at home in the wilderness--and we've
maintained an excellent safety record for over twenty-two years
without losing sight of our basic purpose: to give women the wilderness experience in a spirit
of fun, camaraderie, and self-discovery.
