Join us for a weekend of women’s snowshoeing, day hiking, and fabulous food in legendary Yosemite National Park. Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to be in the mountains in winter. If you’ve never tried it before, we’ll teach you-- it’s easy!  Yosemite National Park is one of America’s best National Parks with activities year round and amazing sites – including cascading waterfalls, serene meadows, and Giant Sequoia trees. Each day we’ll explore a new part of the National Park on foot. We’ll watch for animal tracks and learn about the history of the park all while traveling on snowshoe. After our adventures, we’ll come back to our comfortable lodging to enjoy fine food, amazing views, and great camaraderie. Join us for this great women’s snowshoe adventure! "My business partner and I signed up for the snowshoeing weekend in Yosemite as our "business retreat."  Well, the weather did not cooperate and there was no snow at all in Yosemite.  Instead, the group voted to take a long and strenuous hike up the top of Vernal Fall.  The trail was steep and rocky, unlike the soft and easy trails that I was used to. At times, I had to hold on to my partner to move forward (generally because I am afraid of height and had a hard time finding my footing on granite trails).  Had I been with my family or friends, I would have turned back early on.  However, with a patient guide and a supportive partner, I made it to the top in one piece and we had the whole vista to ourselves.  Seriously, no one was visiting Yosemite that weekend.  As we hiked back to the valley exhausted, I felt so happy that I did not quit and was able to completed the hike with the group.  I realized how important it is to push forward when I feel scared and have doubts in my abilities.  With the right people around me, much can be accomplished.  I look forward to other trips with Call of the Wild!" Day 1 – Arrive in Yosemite National Park Today you arrive into Yosemite Valley.  Hotel check in time is 3 PM.  After checking into your room, you are free to explore the Visitors Center, Ansel Adams Gallery, and other Valley sites before our welcome dinner at the Mountain Room.  At dinner, we’ll get to know one another and discuss the weekend’s plan over a great meal. Day 2 – Snowshoeing in Yosemite Valley This morning we’ll have breakfast and then start the day with a snowshoe lesson, where you’ll learn the basics of snowshoeing.  You’ll be surprised how quickly you pickup snowshoeing – and how much fun it is to move through the dry Sierra powder!  Depending on snow conditions, we may spend the day in the Valley visiting waterfalls and meadows, or we may head to higher elevations and snowshoe out to a vista point to get stunning views of the Valley and El Capitan. This afternoon we’ll return to the hotel for hot showers and enjoy sitting by the fire before our dinner as a group at the world famous Ahwahnee Hotel.  Conditions permitting, after dinner we’ll walk out to the Valley Floor for some stargazing before bed. Day 3 – Snowshoeing in Yosemite National Park This morning we enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading back out the park.  Today we explore another part of Yosemite National Park which is home to 75 groupings of Giant Sequoia Trees – including the mammoth “Grizzly Giant” at 27.6 feet in diameter.  We’ll snowshoe through the forest admiring the trees and looking for animal tracks such as chipmunks, rabbits, or even fox.  You’ll also learn why Giant Sequoia trees are so special and unique to this area.  After lunch, we’ll return to the hotel where you are free to depart anytime after 2 PM.
