View Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1, July 10: Meet at White Wolf campground to acclimate (~8,000ft). Aim to arrive by 3pm to have a chance to settle in and be in time for dinner, trip briefing, and group gear distribution.

Day 2, July 11: We will have breakfast in the campground and begin our hike from White Wolf trail head to Ten Lakes. From the top of Ten Lakes Pass, we will be rewarded with views from Mt Conness south to Matterhorn Peak and the Sawtooth Ridge. Mileage - Hike 7.5 miles. Altitude gain – 8000ft to 9000ft). This will be a long day but does not involve a lot of altitude gain. Bring your swimsuit!

Day 3, July 12: Hike 5 miles to the South Fork of Cathedral Creek and set up camp. Altitude gain - ~500ft.

Day 4, July 13: We will hike to the base of Tuolumne peak where we will set up another camp. Mileage – 5 miles. Altitude gain – 0 (up and down but we’ll camp at 9500ft). Optional hike to the summit of Tuolumne Peak, 10,845ft. The summit offers an expansive panorama included such well-known landmarks as Blackhawk Peak, Matterhom Peak, Mt. Conness, Mt. Dana, Mt. Gibbs, Tuolumne Meadows, Cathedral Peak, Mt. Lyell, Mt. Clark and the Clark Range, Clouds Rest, Half Dome and nearby Mt. Hoffmann. The hike to the summit adds an approximate additional mile and 1300ft gain.

Day 5, July 14: Hike out to May Lake trail head, either stopping for lunch at the famous May Lake or if we make good time, we can have lunch at Tenaya Lake on the beach. Mileage – 5 miles. Altitude lost – 500ft.
