With Yosemite National Park as a splendid backdrop, you'll learn backpacking fundamentals on this beginner backpacking trip in the High Sierra. If you've thought about backpacking, but...Here's a basic backpack trip to get you started—the trip for beginning beginners!

Our route takes us along Yosemite Creek as it flows toward Yosemite Falls. The creek will provide swimming holes with pleasant campsites.

On our layover day, we'll day hike to Upper Yosemite Fall. This will be an incredible vista to show you how to use a topographical map. We'll also introduce you to compass navigation.

The very easy trail will give you the opportunity to learn the basics of backpacking while providing awe-inspiring vistas of the granite mountains and waterfalls that have made Yosemite famous.
