Adventure Travel for Women Since 1978

Desolation Wilderness, High Sierra

Our activities are designed for outdoor lovers of all ages and different fitness levels. It's your vacation—you choose what you want to do.

Our trips range from challenging backpacking trips and mountain climbing to moderate or easy hiking trips where you carry only a light daypack. You may camp outdoors under the stars, or stay in comfortable lodgings.

On some of our trips, hikers can turn in their boots for paddles. After a few days of hiking, you can go kayaking in Baja, Kauai, New Zealand, or go river rafting in the Southwest.

If you love winter sports, we offer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the High Sierra. People of all levels of ability are welcome. If you've never done cross-country skiing or snowshoeing before, try it, we'll teach you.

For those who already have advanced outdoor skills—or who aspire to learn more—there is the Women & Wilderness Leadership Course taught by Carole Latimer and Leslie Appling. Both women have been inducted into the Calfornia Outdoors Hall of Fame. Learn how to thrive in the wilderness.

If you haven't done much camping or hiking before (or even if you have), you can take a Pre-Trip Class to learn the fundamentals of wilderness skills. You'll find out what clothes are best to bring, how to camp safely, and how to travel in the wilderness without harming it.

You can also organize a group of friends and family for a private trip. Celebrate a special birthday or anniversary with a memorable traveling experience.

See you on the trail!
